Hip Pain Treatment

Control, balance and stride support in Cavan

Hip pain often shows up in the way the body handles weight — not as a sharp “injury moment,” but as a slow shift in how the leg and pelvis share the load. You might notice the hip working harder on uneven ground, a dragging feeling when taking longer steps, or a sense that one side is doing more of the stabilising than the other. Some people feel a deep fatigue around the outer hip after standing for long periods; others feel a tight pull through the groin when the leg moves forward. These patterns usually build over time, until the hip starts to complain every time it’s asked to support or guide movement.

I work from Belturbet and see clients across Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Fermanagh. With long‑term remedial experience, my focus is on how the hip is coordinating with the pelvis and leg — and why certain muscles are absorbing more force than they should.

How It Helps

Hip pain is often a control issue, not a strength issue. When the hip can’t guide the leg smoothly, other muscles step in to compensate — and that’s when discomfort starts.

What This Treatment Involves

Each session begins with a movement assessment — watching how your hip behaves when you walk, shift weight, rotate, or lift the leg. Hip pain often hides in motion, not in stillness. Once I see the pattern, I use targeted remedial and deep tissue techniques to release the hip flexors, glute medius, rotators, adductors and other muscles that influence hip control. The aim is to help the hip guide movement again instead of fighting against it. I’ll also give you simple, practical advice to stop the hip tightening up between sessions and keep your stride feeling natural.
